A Perfect Lighthouse Score Isn't Bragging. It's Revenue.
A Perfect Lighthouse Score Isn't Bragging. It's Revenue.

Every agency we've ever competed against has said the same thing at some point: "We build fast websites." Then you check their own site. 4.2 second load time. Lighthouse score of 61. A render-blocking script from a cookie banner they installed three years ago and forgot about.
We score 100 on Lighthouse. Not as a flex โ as a baseline. And if you're wondering whether that actually matters for your business, here's the honest answer: it matters more than you think, and in ways that aren't immediately obvious.
What Lighthouse is actually measuring
Lighthouse is Google's open-source tool for auditing web performance, accessibility, SEO, and best practices. It scores your site from 0 to 100 across four categories. Most sites score somewhere between 50 and 80. A score of 90+ is considered "good." A score of 100 is rare enough that most agencies will quietly not show you theirs.
The number that matters most is your Core Web Vitals โ specifically LCP (Largest Contentful Paint), which measures how fast your main content loads. Our target is under 1.2 seconds. The industry average for business websites is closer to 3.4 seconds.
That gap isn't cosmetic. It's customers deciding in real time whether you're worth their attention.
The part Google doesn't advertise
Since 2021, Core Web Vitals have been a confirmed ranking factor. Slow sites rank lower โ not by a dramatic cliff, but by a consistent, compounding disadvantage against competitors with faster pages. If your site and a competitor's are equally relevant to a search query, Google will favour the one that loads faster and performs better on mobile.
SEO isn't just about keywords. It never really was. It's about building the kind of site Google can confidently recommend โ and performance is a huge part of that signal.
We build with semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy, structured schema markup, and optimised images with correct sizing and formats. None of this is complicated. All of it is consistently skipped when a developer is under time pressure or working from a bloated page builder.
Why templates can't get here
Squarespace, Webflow, and WordPress page builders serve a lot of people well. But they carry technical debt by design โ their code has to support every possible feature every possible user might want. That overhead lives in your JavaScript bundle, your CSS file, and your server response time, whether you're using those features or not.
When we build in Next.js from scratch, we ship only what your site needs. Server Components mean less JavaScript reaches the browser. Image optimization is built into the framework. Fonts are loaded efficiently. There's no plugin ecosystem loading three conflicting libraries to do the same thing.
The result is a site that's architecturally lighter โ and that advantage is permanent, not something you have to maintain.
What this looks like in practice
A client came to us after their previous agency had delivered a Webflow site that scored 58 on mobile. It looked good in screenshots. But their bounce rate was high, their search rankings had stagnated despite regular content updates, and their paid traffic was converting poorly.
We rebuilt the site in Next.js. Mobile Lighthouse score: 99. LCP: 0.9 seconds. Within two months, their organic traffic was up 34% โ not because we rewrote their content strategy, but because Google could finally see and properly rank what was already there.
Performance isn't a vanity number. It's the technical foundation that everything else โ SEO, conversion, paid traffic โ sits on top of.
The uncomfortable question to ask your current provider
Ask them for a Lighthouse score on your live site. Not a screenshot from PageSpeed Insights in ideal conditions โ the real score, on mobile, as Google sees it. If they hesitate, or the number is below 85, you have your answer.
Building a fast site isn't hard when it's the priority from day one. It's nearly impossible to retrofit onto something that was built without it in mind.
If you want to know where your site actually stands, we'll run the audit for free. No pitch attached โ just the numbers, and an honest read on what they mean.
